Palm Beach Gardens, FL. — Nicklaus Brand ambassador and PGA Tour professional Neal Shipley will compete at the Cognizant Classic at PGA National’s Champion Course, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Design in the company’s hometown., marking a meaningful full-circle moment for the Nicklaus brand and the Ohio State grad..
Shipley, Global Brand Ambassador for the Nicklaus Brands, will make his debut appearance at the Cognizant Classic this week sporting the signature Jack Nicklaus™ Blue Label and Jack Nicklaus™ Black Label apparel. He takes on one of the famed courses in the Nicklaus Design portfolio.
And if recent history is any indication, Shipley thrives on Nicklaus Design layouts. Just last Monday at TGL, he made a hole-in-one on a Nicklaus Design hole, a moment that had fellow fans and competitors buzzing. Now, with the legendary “Bear Trap” on the horizon, anything seems possible.

The iconic “Bear Trap”, the 15th, 16th and 17th holes on the Champion Course, is widely considered one of the most demanding three-hole stretches in professional golf. Surrounded by water and demanding precision, it has humbled some of the game’s greatest players by demanding a level of shot making that decides the winner from the rest of the pack.
For Shipley, the week represents more than a tournament start. As a Nicklaus Companies ambassador, his presence at PGA National here in our headquarters hometown, underscores the brand’s deep connection to competitive golf.
“I’ve been looking forward to competing at the Cognizant Championship at PGA National. With its reputation as a shot-makers course, I’ve always felt it would suit my game perfectly. Excited to tee it up next week at Cognizant!”
The Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches takes place February 26th to March 1st at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
